Collaborations & Partnerships

Building Bridges for Palliative Care Across Africa

At the African Palliative Care Association (APCA), we believe lasting change happens through collective action. Aligned with our 2020-2030 Strategic Framework, our partnerships strengthen comprehensive chronic care delivery across the six WHO health system building blocks.

Our Partnership Philosophy

🤝 United in Purpose

Palliative care is both a health system function and a societal responsibility. We bring together diverse stakeholders who share one vision: Universal access to palliative and comprehensive chronic care for all in Africa through UHC integration.

🌍 Strength in Diversity

From ministers of health to grassroots advocates, our partnerships span sectors and geographies. This diversity drives innovation, strengthens health systems, and ensures equitable access across all African nations.

Support Our Mission

The World Health Organisation estimates that only 1 in 10 people who need palliative care in Africa actually receive it. That means millions of people are suffering needlessly.

Donations, however large or small, are vital to APCA's ongoing work. Your contribution enables us to improve the quality of life for people with life-threatening illnesses, their families and their carers across Africa.

Your Donation Will Support:

  • Palliative care education, mentorship & capacity building
  • Funding hospices providing medication, comfort & telehealth services
  • Advocacy for national interventions & hunger alleviation in patient households
  • Research to build evidence and improve patient care
  • Sign language interpretation during webinars
  • The Kath Defilippi Fund — supporting South Coast Hospice's Renewable Energy Project to protect facilities from electrical outages and adverse weather
